to celebrate frank...

if you've ever been to treehouse, you know that we are located in an amazing Italian neighborhood here in williamsburg brooklyn. today was a shining example of why we love it here so much. our friends at jerry's (aka emily's pork store)


and the guys at the typewriter store next door to jerry's threw a grande fete celebrating the life of 'Ol Blue Eyes himself, frank sinatra...on the 10 year anniversary of his passing. it was a neighborhood block party...


complete with complimentary lunch (or breakfast if you were around at 9am)...and of course, Frank's greatest hits blaring from the speakers. the party went into the evening, with cake and dancing if you were so inclined.


the blue balloons commemorated the man, the roast peppers and sausage honored the legend. i'm sure the Chairman of the Board was smiling down on us all, singing "come fly with me.." ;)

how our treehouse garden grows...

we're planting herbs and greenery in these amazing and adorable collectible planters, circa 1950-1970's...and yes!they are for sale! basil, rosemary, lemongrass, mmmmm ... more planters coming soon..and wouldn't that be the perfect gift for your mom, or a mom you know, on mother's day?? original and thoughtful..(you can thank us later). xoxo treehouse

kelly lane is once again featured on the racks of treehouse*, and this time she's stepped it up a notch with a collection made from all organic and sustainable materials. we just love the shape of the sea strings dress..easy to wear on a springy saturday in the park, or a summer night out. here's how kelly describes her collection:

Learn simple textile printing using inexpensive items you can find at the grocery and art supply stores! In this 2-hour workshop you'll learn to carve your own stamps out of a variety of materials, and print with them. These techniques can be used to customize clothing, home furnishings, paper goods, and practically anything else you can think of! All supplies included.

*JEWELS AND TREASURES WITH SIRI <<*new!*>>
In this 3 hour workshop you'll not only learn the art of treasure hunting, you'll transform gold, silver and gems into handmade works of art! CROCHET IN A DAY! Sunday, February 10 A 3-hour beginner crochet workshop hosted by Cal Patch from hodge podge. Bring some yarn and a hook* and we'll tackle the basics of crochet: chain stitch, single crochet, circular crochet, and finishing off. with just these skills you can make a scarf or hat! *Yarn should be smooth (not bumpy or hairy) and a light or bright color, in either worsted or bulky weight. if worsted, get a G or H hook, if bulky, go for I or J. 4-7 pm, $50
