LEARN TO SEW with Cal Patch, author of "Design-It-Yourself Clothes"
Do you have a sewing machine in your closet, but have never used it? Or you want to sew, but the last time you stitched anything up was in Home Ec class in 8th grade? If you are looking for a low-commitment class to get acquainted with your machine (or reacquainted with the art of sewing), this is the one for you! In this 3-hour session, you will learn how to thread a machine and wind a bobbin, sew a simple seam, and hem edges. You will make either a pillowcase, tote bag, or drawstring pouch. From this start you'll have a foundation for moving on to all kinds of sewing projects, and your machine may just become your very BEST friend! Note: You can bring your own machine or use one of ours; please let us know when you register. $70)

INTRO TO KNITTING with Lydia Austin
Knitting isn't just for squares! Learn to caste on cast off with fiber savant Lydia Austin as you knit your own beer coozie! In this beginner knitting class, Lydia Austin will teach everyone how to knit using chunky knitting needles. We will be making beer coozies that kind of look like beer can sweaters (but not with sleeves or anything too cheesy like that). They are the perfect thing for autumn barbecues and chilly bonfire parties to keep your beers cold and hands toasty. Totally great for the fall season and also perfect for gifts! Yarn, beers, and treats will all be provided. Makes a great holiday gift! Did we mention beers included ;). $40

Ever wonder what to do with all those beads and baubles from Grandma's closet? Or do you need yet another reason to keep hoarding broken necklaces and single earrings? Well here's your answer! In just one two hour session you'll learn the basics of jump ring usage, as well as chain layering and clasping. All this will be done with cut apart treasures and loose bead findings. We'll provide the know how and lotsa junk, feel free to bring your own baubles as well. Treehouse's own Siri will show you how it's done! tasty treats and refreshing beverages provided too! $40

Are you reeling like we are about the dearly departed king? must admit we're surprised how much it's effected us! if you'd like to come commisserate this weekend, we'll be at treehouse sat 1ish-8ish, sun noonish-7ish (btw, we just got in an ammmmazing collection of very vintage, very special summer dresses, perfect for moonwalkin' in and also those 4th festivities on the horizon... swing by after brunch and check 'em out!) then on Sunday we'll be stopping by our friends and favorite gallery CINDERS for there benefit auction (come! help out an amazing gallery and get a sweet piece of art! ) and THEN later sunday night (9pm on..) we'll be djing a dance party/ trunk show with our dear friend erin of the boutique SODAFINE at the newish joint BRUAR FALLS (brought to you by the peeps of cakeshop, in the old lucky cat space on grand st btw driggs n roebling). We'll be bringing along sweet tunes (vinyl, baby!) and a curated collection of vintage dresses and Sirius* jewels. and maybe a few more treats.... we shall see! Erin's gonna have some goodies too, and I'm sure I'm gonna covet at least a few! So come, dance, drink, and celebrate life with us. Remember the legend that will always live on in our hearts and dancing feet, and celebrate the time we have to share together on this plane. RIP MJ. And don't forget about the awesome CLOTHES at treehouse!!!! we've got lotsa new, bright, fun, playful stuff for ...well now it's finally summer! we really have to take a new pic, especially since a lot of those dresses have found homes, and now there's more on the rack waiting for you to show them a good time this summer....yay!...come on by and check it out! hana hatori swings into treehouse!

Today we lasses at treehouse were graced with meeting the newly-made-brooklyn designer (by way of tennessee by way of japan) hana hattori and her partner whitney and the beautiful dresses they brought to our branches. Hana's beautifully made and lined dresses are created from mainly vintage fabrics, and as avid animal lovers, they donate 5% of all profits to animal rescue organizations. So sweet.... and so are the dresses! perfect for a little holidaze festivities, and also great for layering with tights and sweaters now that the chill has begun.....Come in and check them out! kiss, siri tree
