or whatever. these ladies rule and are gonna give tree a lil spring cleaning and a well needed breath of fresh air. and awesome new and vintage wares. and fresh ideas and and and...I can't wait! they're calling their store-within-a-store:

...catchy, ain't it? And once I get back from SXSW with my band Chica Vas, I'll probably be hanging around A LOT...especially 'round Happy Hour ;)

have we mentioned lately how much we love the uniform project?

"Thread NY caught up with Sheena Matheiken at the tail end of The Uniform Project, her year-long exercise in sustainability wherein she wore one dress for 365 days. We accompanied her to a couple of her favorite Williamsburg shopping haunts, where she hones her styling genius.

Since the first day of the first dress, we've been enthralled by Matheiken's journey, which she documented with a daily photograph of her outfit on The Uniform Project blog. The point of her yearlong exercise? To extol the value of reuse while raising funds for The Akanksha Foundation's efforts to school children in the slum's of her native India. Supporters could contribute cash to the cause or accessories to help her create new outfits.

The yearlong experiment has concluded, but Matheiken has only just begun to exercise her styling genius. We were thrilled to tag along on a mini-tour of two Williamsburg boutiques that supported her mission, Treehouse and Malin Landaeus, during which she showed us how to maximize what you've already got."

There's a lot you need to be caught up on.... our amazing fashion show, our shopping trip in Nebraska, etc, but just wanted to share this great video on CNN (!) about the Uniform Project, where Sheena is wearing a crocheted-chain copper collar by Sirius Lux during the interview. Yay! great project, great interview, and so glad to be a lil part of it! ;)

I've been making crochet accessories for a while, but have finally dove into the land of precious metals...which is strange since i always say there can never be enough bling...;)

the lovely ladies of "the uniform project" swung by treehouse yesterday and picked up lots of great treasures, one of my favs is this Charlie Chaplin esque hat Sheena is rockin the very next day! ....can't wait to see what combinations they come up with in the future! and this crochet necklace by The Museum Of Useless Objects is absolutely incredible!! Brunch as fashion! genius!!!
