Just in case you didn't notice by the gated doors, our dear friends, treehouse is taking a must-needed summer sojurn of relaxing and enjoying the wonders of nature upstate. But we'll be back and in full effect Wed., September 3rd! Ready for Fall with many new and wonderous delights! Time to get cozy and crafty once again...Can't wait to see you in the trees....actually, we don't mind breathing fresh air and stretching out our limbs for a few more days.... but wish you were here!...kisses from the trees....

valerie from dear birthday has added some of her stunning wares to the treehouse shelves. from handmade cards to floral undies and summer rompers- we are proud to have her in our branches.

RENEGADE!

it's this weekend...the big one. Renegade Craft Fair in McCarren Park Pool. Saturday and Sunday. treehouse will be there with sirius, becky lee, bobbi, fame and frippery, wolfe, and more. and lots of treehouse designers will have their own tables to visit too..like hodgepodge, raeburn ink, a.s.i.s., and KIM. this is a can't miss, summer spectacular, super fun event. and it's usually one of the hottest weekends of the summer, but oh yeah, we already had the heat wave. so come visit us!

to celebrate frank...

if you've ever been to treehouse, you know that we are located in an amazing Italian neighborhood here in williamsburg brooklyn. today was a shining example of why we love it here so much. our friends at jerry's (aka emily's pork store)


and the guys at the typewriter store next door to jerry's threw a grande fete celebrating the life of 'Ol Blue Eyes himself, frank sinatra...on the 10 year anniversary of his passing. it was a neighborhood block party...


complete with complimentary lunch (or breakfast if you were around at 9am)...and of course, Frank's greatest hits blaring from the speakers. the party went into the evening, with cake and dancing if you were so inclined.


the blue balloons commemorated the man, the roast peppers and sausage honored the legend. i'm sure the Chairman of the Board was smiling down on us all, singing "come fly with me.." ;)

how our treehouse garden grows...

have you been by the treehouse lately? we've got a little bit of a green thumb and can't help but be proud of it! take a peek in our windows and see what we've been up to...


we're planting herbs and greenery in these amazing and adorable collectible planters, circa 1950-1970's...and yes!they are for sale! basil, rosemary, lemongrass, mmmmm ... more planters coming soon..and wouldn't that be the perfect gift for your mom, or a mom you know, on mother's day?? original and thoughtful..(you can thank us later). xoxo treehouse

kelly lane is once again featured on the racks of treehouse*, and this time she's stepped it up a notch with a collection made from all organic and sustainable materials. we just love the shape of the sea strings dress..easy to wear on a springy saturday in the park, or a summer night out. here's how kelly describes her collection:

if you've always dreamed of being a part of treehouse, now's your chance! we're looking for a few new faces to join our branches. send us some pics (small ones please!) or a weblink, tell us who you are and what you do. the only requirements are: it's gotta be handmade, or designed by you (no mass production please), and you should be a local talent (brooklyn preferable, but we may consider other near locals if your wares fit the bill...) we're especially looking for women's dresses, kids and mens wear, and unique housewares. we're scheduling one last round of craft classes before we take a little class siesta. if you've been dying to embroider, blockprint or bead, here's your chance...

*EMBROIDERY WITH CAL
In this one session extravaganza, you'll learn 12 classic embroidery stitches and be off and running to custom-decorate everything you own! After making a basic stitch sampler, Cal will guide you through planning your own personal project. All supplies included ...including tasty treats!...Stitch away!

*BLOCKPRINTING WITH CAL
Learn simple textile printing using inexpensive items you can find at the grocery and art supply stores! In this 2-hour workshop you'll learn to carve your own stamps out of a variety of materials, and print with them. These techniques can be used to customize clothing, home furnishings, paper goods, and practically anything else you can think of! All supplies included.
Sunday 3/30- 5-7pm, $50

*JEWELS AND TREASURES WITH SIRI <<*new!*>>
In this 3 hour workshop you'll not only learn the art of treasure hunting, you'll transform gold, silver and gems into handmade works of art! Siri will guide you through general beading and design, usage of findings, wire wrapping, and more. By the end of the night you'll be on your way to a whole new jewelry collection.
